By 2011 Steve Harvey was everywhere: hosting Family Feud, running a nationally syndicated morning radio show and riding the success of his relationship advice books. That year he added one more job, a daytime talk show from NBCUniversal.
In October 2011, NBC’s owned-and-operated stations picked up Steve Harvey, and the show was soon sold across most of the country ahead of its fall 2012 premiere. It was produced in Chicago, with Harvey promising a talk show that brought a man’s point of view to daytime TV.
The move turned the former Original King of Comedy into one of the busiest hosts in American television, a long way from his days on the stand-up circuit.
