2012: Kevin Hart Sells Out Madison Square Garden

A year after Laugh at My Pain proved he could sell movie tickets, Kevin Hart took the next step in 2012: a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, one of the biggest stages in entertainment.

The Garden show, part of a tour that took him to sold-out venues around the world, became the centerpiece of Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain. Released in theaters in July 2013, the film earned about $32 million on a reported budget of $2.5 million.

Along with his breakout in Think Like a Man that spring, 2012 marked the year Hart became one of the few comedians who could fill arenas, and it set up the stadium-sized tours that followed.
