Tony Rock is getting his own show. MyNetworkTV has picked up The Tony Rock Project, a half-hour comedy series built around the comedian’s take on everyday life.
The format mixes man-on-the-street interviews with hidden-camera segments, with Rock using the bits to poke at stereotypes, hang-ups and the strange habits of regular people. The network is slotting it into a Wednesday-night comedy block.
Tony, the younger brother of Chris Rock, has been building his own reputation on the stand-up circuit. The Tony Rock Project premiered on October 8, 2008, and ran for eight episodes.
