Jamie Foxx Gets the Wax Treatment for Black History Month

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas kicked off Black History Month by unveiling a wax figure of Jamie Foxx, the Oscar winner for Ray.

The figure, valued at around $300,000, joins the attraction’s Spirit of America room alongside likenesses of Muhammad Ali, Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Jordan, Martin Luther King Jr. and Oprah Winfrey, each displayed with a short biography.

Foxx sat for a two-hour session with the Tussauds Studio artists, who took his measurements and matched the color of his eyes, skin and hair for the finished piece. Not bad for a man who got his start doing stand-up and sketch comedy on In Living Color.
